In Tanzania, youth motorcycle businesses, particularly boda-boda (motorcycle taxi) and delivery services, offer significant opportunities for income generation and employment. These businesses leverage the convenience and speed of motorcycles to navigate traffic congestion and provide transport and delivery services in urban and even some rural areas. Young people can participate by owning and operating their own motorcycles, hiring them, or working for companies that utilize motorcycles for delivery.
Investing in youth is an investment in our future. It is also fundamental for the successful implementation of the global 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This is especially true in the Africa region, which is home to about 400 million youth, whose ambitions and abilities can make a substantial contribution to the realization of the prosperous, peaceful and sustainable future we want for all people.
